Sarawati Pujo or Vasant Panchami is a Hindu festival that marks the end of winter and the beginning of spring. In West Bengal people offer their prayers to Goddess Saraswati.

Bhoger Khichuri is a traditional Bengali Khichdi recipe. This recipe is specially prepared during the occasion of Sarawati Puja. Prepare this Bhoger Khichuri recipe at home to celebrate Sarawati Puja or Vasant Panchami.

Ingredients:
(Serves 4)
- 1 cup Yellow Moong Dal
- Water
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 1 cup Gobindobhog Rice
- 1/2 tsp Oil
- 1/2 cup Cauliflower Florets
- 2 Potatoes (diced)
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 2 Bay Leaves
- 2 Green Cardamoms
- 1 Cinnamon Stick
- 3 Cloves
- 2 Dried Red Chillies
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 4 cups Water

- 1 tbsp Ghee
- 1 tsp Ginger, Garlic & Green Chilli Paste
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tsp Bengali Garam Masala
- 1/4 tsp Asafoetida
- Water
- 2 Green Chillies
- 1 Tomato (chopped)
- 1 tsp Sugar
- Salt
- 2 tbsp Ghee
